Who were the Morlocks?
In HG Well's book, "The Time Machine", the passenger goes to the future in a device. This machine carries him to the far future where he meets to races of people the cute blonde Eloi of which Weena was one, and the ugly cannibalistic underground dwellers known as the Morlocks. Personally I believe that the cave dwelling Morlocks of the Time Machine might be similar to the neanderthals. Their nasty culinary habits similar to cave men. Also the Eloi are close to Cro-magnons.
